Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

Our mental and emotional wellbeing is another vital area where amino acids are required for proper functioning. Communication within the brain and the nervous system occur through chemical “languages”.  These “languages” utilize neurotransmitters to transmit messages from one neuron or nerve cell, to a specific organ such as a muscle or gland. Neurotransmitters are powerful chemicals that influence numerous physical and behavioral processes, including cognitive and mental performance, emotional states, and pain response.

What all that means is that every system in your body requires amino acids to function properly, from your bones and organs to your digestive tract to your brain and nervous system and even your emotional wellbeing. The amazing amino acids are some very powerful little nutrients!
